2014 GNA Legislative Day Rescheduled for March 5!

GNA is pleased to announce that our 2014 Legislative Day has been rescheduled for Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at the State Capitol, from 9:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m.  We cordially invite nurses and nursing students to join us at the Capitol in Atlanta for this opportunity to advocate for nursing and learn more about the legislative process and how it affects your practice.  Legislative Day participants have been provided online self-study tools to review prior to the event.  The materials include a Powerpoint presentation on Legislation/Public Policy and other useful resources to educate attendees on the legislative process and current nursing/health care policy topics.

In 2014, GNA will continue its advocacy for funding the implementation of the Mandatory Reporting law in Georgia, and encourage other critical budget allocations for the profession centered on patient safety.  GNA leaders and staff will be in room 307 of the Coverdell Legislative Office Building (CLOB), which is across the street from the Capitol, from 9:00 am-1:00 pm.  At 10:00 a.m., we will take a group photo with Governor Deal on the 2nd floor of the Capitol, North Steps.
