The General Assembly has worked through “Crossover Day,” which is the final day that a bill can pass from the chamber it was introduced to the other chamber.  Otherwise, the bill is most likely dead for the year, unless the language is added to another bill as an amendment.  The House and Senate have scheduled “Sine Die” – the final day of the 2014 Session – for Thursday, March 20th.

GNA continues to advocate for new GBON Funding

As a result of GNA’s continued advocacy for patient safety, House Appropriations leadership has placed new funding in its version of the Fiscal Year 2015 budget for the Georgia Board of Nursing.  GNA’s advocacy efforts for this new funding are ongoing.  The Governor’s proposed FY 2015 budget does not include this new funding, so GNA will continue to advocate for new resources for the Board of Nursing, whose charge it is to protect Georgia patients.
